Iv got a friend that shapes metal as a hobby. He wants to make a set of tap handles for the keezer I'm about to build. I've seen this done before. My question is what fitting do people use? Iv only used picnic taps in this past so 0 experience in this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Yep the threads. I know I read a how to on here with a link to a threaded piece made for fixing different things to tap handles. After a few searches I don't see it though.

Are you asking about faucets? If so pay the extra money for some Perlicks. The cheap standard faucets stick shut if you don't pour a beer for a few days.

A lot of people insist on getting stainless but iceberg happy with my chrome plated ones.

I was talking about the screw on piece for the handle that connects to the faucets.

Probably the threaded insert like these:

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/stainless-steel-dual-threaded-insert-for-wooden-taphandles.html

Lowe's carries brass ones but the outer threading is wood type threads (very coarse) rather than machine threads. I have seen some online that have machine threads on the outside as well.

If he is making the handles from metal, no thread insert is needed.. have him just drill and tap the new handles for the faucet thread size you're going to use. (Perlic for example are 3/8 NC thread)
Unless you want them to be multi fit type deals..
Then a threaded insert of a standard OD / thread pitch could be used, with different ID / thread pitch for different faucets.
http://www.mcmaster.com/ can provide thread inserts
