I recently bought a Tap-a-Draft system. One of the spare parts I see sold all over is a small black o-ring that goes between the CO2 cartridges and the tap. Mine didn't come with those.

Did they change the design? It seems like there is some clear silicone imbedded in the TAD where the CO2 cartridges go in, but I don't want to tap my first bottle and start losing CO2 all over the place.

Also, does anyone know if Star-San (an acid sanitizer) is bad for the PET bottles? Coke, which is pretty acidic, is stored in these things, so I'd think it'd be OK, but I thought I'd check.

I have been using the TAD for a long time and when new you don't need the o-ring for CO2. At some point if you start leaking CO2 you can look at the o-ring but if you try to use one before you need it you will screw up your tap......ask me how I know :)

Thanks BillyBeer!

BTW, I just found some soda in those 3 liter bottles at the dollar store - poured the sugar water out, and they fit, as you probably already know. A cheap way to increase capacity...
