I forgot to take out the hops. I did tried to get them out as much as i can when pouring into my secondary. Would my beer get too bitter? They are bottled now...

1 week of primary
2 weeks of secondary
yesterday - bottled. 1 more week left to go.

I put the boil hops in the primary and will hop the secondary. Did you do any worse than that? If not relax.:cross:

IT's too late now, but never, ever "pour to secondary"! That will oxidize (ruin) the beer quickly so make sure you rack (siphon) very gently when you move beer. Straining it also causes oxidation, so you want to siphon it and just not pick up any hops debris or trub when you do so.

I never take out my hops- they go from the boil into the fermenter. Then I rack from the fermenter to the bottling bucket and leave the debris behind. My beer is perfectly clear without debris, but I don't package the beer until it's clear.

You do not have to worry about extra bittering. The Isomerization process that creates bitterness doesn't operate at fermentation temperature.

I use a fine mesh strainer going into primary wheather I use hop sacks or not. I get less trub,& it aerates the wort pretty well. But never into secondary or the bottling bucket. But I wondered if keeping them in primary would give grassy notes?

Thanks guys. That means I'm all good! I will reduce beer splash to little or none next time. Thumbs up!
