Ok, I am doing a partial mash clone recipe. It is calling for boiling 1.5 gallons, mashing. Then adding another 1.5 gallons after 45 minutes.
Adding fermentables, hops, etc. Then racking into my carboy and adding remaining water into carboy to make 5 gallons. My question is has anyone just started with about 6 gallons of water right away. And never had to add water later on?
