After making a strawberry cider kit it has now been bottled for 2 weeks and I haven't tried it yet, before I had bottled it, it tasted pretty nasty but I've read up that it takes a few weeks to taste good.

So I made two 1 Gallon 'experiments' which have been sat in the cupboard for 2 weeks (only seemed to bubble for 1) with Apple juice and one with ~500g white sugar, and one with ~500g brown sugar (I measured out 500g but some fell out, my method was to half empty a carton then put some sugar in and shake, so some went in the sink instead as I didn't have a funnel!).

OG of white sugar: 1.078
OG of brown sugar: 1.081

I was wondering how I would go about sweetening them, being a novice this is my first go at apple juice, the kind of cider I like is Magners, Bulmers and Stella.

What different ways are there to sweeten and carbonate?
