I'm in the process of building my keezer. I do plan on posting some pics when I get organized. My biggest concern is how heavy the lid is. I was thinking of using these type of supports (shown in the picture), but after reading some of the questions on amazon, these are installed in the open position, then you have to push down to get them to close. Would this cause the lid to not shut tightly?

When I built my keezer I had the same question you did. I stood at autozone for an hour looking at hatchback and lid lifts. I was not going to pay $40 a piece.

When I got home I looked on amazon and came across electric actuators. For $59 I was able to get an 18" actuator with a relay and remote. I just looked at it and it will handle 320#'s.

When you have friends over and it is time to change the keg for the first time there face is priceless when you hit a wireless remote and the damn lid opens. They honestly think you built this in the future and brought it back.

Also, out of the whole build this was one of the easiest things to hook up. Everything comes as a kit.

An example but not the one I got....

To fix the problem with the lid closing properly. Install this before you install your paneling on the side this is going on. Hopefully that is clear.

When I got my kit it came with the relay and top and bottom mounting clamp. I used an old 12v 10amp laptop power supply. I then purchased some dc adapters. Here is what a parts list would be from Amazon
