Brew day tomorrow... Going to try a 10gal batch of:

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f69/amarillo-summit-ipa-122707/

I have a pound of citra; wondering what everyones thoughts are on that being used in place of Summit. I know it is slightly less on the alpha so I'd have to increase the oz used, but are the flavors similar enough?

Also, this is my first all grain attempt. I plan on using spring water since I don't know my water profile yet. Should I pick up and pH adjustment stuff from my LHBS?

Thanks in advance!

I have used Citra in place of Summit with this recipe. The flavor isn't the same, but IMO, Citra goes nicely with Amarillo. It has quickly become my second favorite hop pairing.

Thanks guys... Ended up using citra. First AG batch went alright as well. Only 70% efficiency but should get better. Bubbling away in primary and it smells delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
