Stubborn bung

Bung doesn't want it stay in keeps pushing out what's the deal

I have the same problem when using star san. I put my blow off tube in the bung and shake it around until it is dry. No problems once that happens.

Opposite problem here, I went to remove the blow off from my IPA yesterday and the bung is stuck in the bung hole. TP didn't help.

Well in that case, I agree that you need to dry your bung (but not the bung hole).

OK....if the bung is stuck use some star san as you try to get it off. It will work its way down the side of the bung as you try to pry it out. It will take a little bit, but it works.

To get back on track...If it's wet it will sometimes pop out. Let it dry before inserting it.

I bought bungs and had the same issue (I brew one gallon and 38mm screw caps are so cheap and perfect that bungs are useless) but as long as you insert the bung for a few minutes and keep pushing it down, it will eventually mold to the shape of the carboy and not rise...trust me, I freaked out when I first tried to use a bung and that happened, but as you try to use them more, they will stay without an issue
