So, I want to do a Paulener Clone. I was curious, has anyone ever tried just dumping a bottle of Paulener into the wort to put in the yeast and ferment it?
They say the yeast in the bottle is a different yeast than was used during fermentation, but I have nothing to back that up. I myself am a fan of White Labs 300, which I have used over and over, even harvested some after the fact from my own bottles. Now that, I can tell you will work fine, but you have to make a starter and ramp it up before pitching.
