I'm going to a family reunion of a sort and I'm looking for a good, yet fool proof, recipe for a smooth chocolately stout. Something that can knock the relatives socks off. I already have brewed a Racer 5 clone that turned out marvelously and I have an IPA from a Beer, Beer, & More Beer Kit in the primary just waiting to go into secondary.

I need something nice & thick & chewey & chocolately to give my relatives something to think about.

Thanks :mug:

THANKS TO THE QUICK RESPONSES!!!!!!

I've been to the Cats Meow but I'm leary due to some of the dates. Some of these brews have been made sooooooooo long ago.

AS to the link to the oatmeal stout - how would a pound of chocolate effect your recipe???

Here mine. I've been told by a few people that its one of the best they've had. i'm hoping this year batch lives up to expectations.

I wouldn't worry much about the dates. You must remember, beer is an ancient beverage, and some of the best beers made today come from recipes that are hundreds of years old.

This is my favorite. I use 1 oz of chocolate extract syrup (think coffee flavoring syrup) at secondary.
