How long will hops stay viable if not vacuum sealed? Since my funds are limited I store my hops in the freezer in the opened barrier bags inside of ziplock bags (i try to remove as much air as i can before i seal the ziplock).

My question is: With this rudimentary method, how long will my hops be viable?

I've read the proper way to store hops is to vacuum seal them and store them in the freezer, but at the moment this just isn't viable. I want to know how long I have before I have to use or dump my hops, given the method that I am using.

I used to store them the same way before I started to vacuum seal them in mason jars, and they seemed fine but I used them within a month of opening. If you are going to use them within a short period you should be fine but if you are talking months and months, you will loose AA if not properly stored.
