Anyone got any info? I emailed the brewey, but haven't heard back yet.

I'm going to the Hopleaf in Chicago tonight for dinner and brews, so like any good beer geek, i checked their website for the current draft menu and I about did a backflip when I saw this:

Stone Ruination IPA Escondido, CA

Special guest tap feature from Stone Brewery
that is not quite yet distributed in Illinois.
Magnum & Centenniel hops aplenty (100+ IBUs)
w/a refreshing malt base. 7.7%

Goblet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $6.
Pint . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $7.

Needless to say, hopefully I'll be having a few Ruinations when I get there tonight.

Might have to give these a try too:

New Belgium Fort Collins, Colorado
Eric’s Ale

Draft-only oak-aged sour ale w/peach juice. Part
of the “Lips of Faith” program where N.B. sends
small “one-off” to a few selected taverns w/clientele
who want to taste what New Belgium can do
beyond Fat Tire. More goodies to follow! 7%

Goblet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $6.

Dark Horse Marshall, Michigan
Rod Ale

Red ale flavored with “aphrodisiac herbs.” 6.7%
Pint. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $6.

I'm not sure about Illinois, but I know it's distributed in Wisconsin. My parents live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and when I get a chance I love to check out Woodmans' beer selection in Kenosha. I was there just last week and they had plenty of Stone brews for sale. IIRC it was the smoked porter, AB, IPA and Ruination. I don't know how often you venture up north, but Woodman's is straight up 94 and exit at highway 50 east, you should see it from there.

It's hard to believe this thread is a year and a half old and this is finally coming to fruition and I couldn't find any other threads in a search. I was hesitant to even mention it because it kicked off yesterday (April Fools Day) but I guess it's for real. They are hold a week long event at various local bars, restaurants and liquor stores. One of the better ones imo is at The Publican next Wednesday night.Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head, Nick Floyd of Three Floyds, Shaun O'Sullivan of 21st Amendment, Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker, and of course Greg Koch will all be in attendance.Should make for an interesting night out.
