Just can't find my last post...DUH!

But... I have my first brew of Stout bottled.
I'm not sure if it will carbonate because I kept it longer in the fermentation barrel than I should so it may pour a bit flat, still it tastes smashing...YEAH!
I learned a lot and have another brew of mild underway, this time I will do exactly what it says on the tin (but I am looking forward to experimenting with another stout)

Just a little question.... can beer yeast be used for..say... a cider?
Or is it only good for ales and stouts and things?

I understand wine yeasts pretty good... but have no knowledge of beer yeasts.
