Wondering if anyone has a solution for sticking taps? My kreezer is in my man cave outside in my garage and it gets pretty warm in there 100 degrees in summer easy. I find the beer gets carmalized in the tap spigot between days. If I pour one then don't use for a few days the tap gums up and is hard to open. Any way to prevent this?. I tried lubbing up the parts with keg lube and did not help. Suggestions?

Perlick faucets won't have this problem which is why I switched over. Other options include using a bowl of warm water to soak them a bit before you go to pour it will make them loosen up a bit.

^^^Read about sticking faucets so much I just ordered Perlick's for my kegerator that hasn't even had beer poured from it yet. Still force carbing my first two kegged batches. But since one of them came out way stronger than I expected (8.6% ABV) I know I won't be pulling that tap handle as frequently so I figured I'd just drop the cash and get the faucets switched out now.

If you're not in a position to upgrade the faucets right now I've read that spraying some StarSan into the faucets to flush them after you're done pouring your last pint works to keep the faucet clean. Just keep some around in a spray bottle.

And to add one other detail. I recommend using plugs of some variety in the faucet to prevent fruit flys from getting in there. I have seen everything from commercial designed plugs to sealed wooden dowels with an oring on them.

Perlick faucets are the easiest permanent fix but spray some StarSan on the ends of your faucets (the part that moves) each day. It'll help.
