Decided I'm sick of stacking burners and coolers on random staggered objects to be able to brew... So I've started designing one...

Before someone asks, the reason why both burners are on the left side is because I plan on using a range hood over those pots to help mitigate fumes and water vapor.

Hi

Looks like it will work as drawn. It won't be cheap to build. You *might* save enough on materials to pay for a pump by making it shorter. That certainly would make loading stuff a bit easier.

Agree. A $100 pump will make a world of a difference.

I agree a pump has made my two tier system a breeze to work with. Best addition I have made.

As it stands right now, the HLT will be around 5'6" at the top, while the mash tun will be a comfortable height for me. I am going to look into a high temp pump for transferring water from the HLT to the mash tun, but I don't particularly want to deal with pulling a pump apart and cleaning it after every brew (for mash out transfers)....

Hi

I think you will find that a magnetic drive pump is pretty darn easy to tear down. There are a lot of people who clean the pump and lines without tearing them all down to pieces...

I just circulate pbw and/or starsan through the pump/lines after a brewday. No problems so far.
