Great to hear! Your right, I need to take a picture with a quarter for reference. Just remember the tighter fitting the hole the sturdier and better fitting it'll be.

Here's a pic you can use, it's attached to a full port 1/2" 2 piece ball valve by way of a close nipple,
and has a 1/2 NPT x 1/2 compression fitting on the other side, for size reference.
The fittings are just loosely threaded in, they would go in much tighter with thread tape and a wrench.

That's a perfect pic for reference. It's almost as big as that ball valve!

Sorry, total newb here. Will these be correct for all my bulkhead fittings? I'm currently planning out the following.

2 BK HERMS (2 recirc in/out, 1 drain, 1 whirlpool return, 1 sightglass, 1 thermometer)

1 MLT (1 whirlpool return, 1 drain)

Would these bulkheads work for all of these applications? If so, I'm looking at 14... are there still 14 available? I assume these work as either weldless or welded?

Sorry, soooo much to learn and its a slow process :(

Yes these will work for any penetration through a kettle wall or bottom. They accomodate material up to 3/4" thick. I have 7 of them soldered into my kegs and they are leak free. I'm sure they can easily be welded. I have plenty left.

I tried several ways of shipping and for two or more, $5 flat rate box is the cheapest. They are fairly heavy pieces.

Hi Pickles, Noob here just setting up. Love to get 6 of these after pricing similar through McMaster. Paypal today if that suits you.

Cheers!

Yeah, a comparable one from McMaster-Carr will run you $95 each (Item # 6696K59); actually theirs has only a max wall thickness of 3/8". Not that it really matters for most all of our applications.

Quite a few people have contacted me expressing interest in some of these; I just wanted to let you guys know I'm down to less than half of them left.

Hey Pickles- how many of these do you have left? I might be interested in a couple more, and I have a buddy who might want a few. I can pick up locally again for all of them.

Thanks!!!

Was about to place an order at BF when I saw this ad.
Not a big DIY'er...so thanks in advance for the help! I am confused why McMstr wants such a high price for something that seems so similar to the inexpensive weldless bulkheads on the brewing supply sites. Can someone explain the difference?

I just bought 3 blingmanns and want to add return line bulkheads. Are these overkill for that purpose? or a crazy good deal? i suspect just a QD external, and something Wayne (BF's) makes for recirculation interior...

These are from surplus medical equipment so they are machined to tight tolerences from solid pieces of 316 stainless steel. A lot of the cheap ones are made from 304 SS and usually cast. The 316 SS and quality of construction make them perfect for industrial and medical application, for our purposes 304 is sufficient. These are certainly good enough to use as bulkheads on your kettles. As for the price, it is a crazy good deal for these specific bulkheads. I got them at a good price and am passing it along to fellow HBT'ers.

Thanks for the quick shipping and great packaging. The bulkheads came in and they are of great quality. Trying to drill my holes now for them, but it is going slow... :drunk:
