I have a home built SS pot that I welded up. There are small "rust" spots, I can wipe them with a damp rag and they go away. Its just where I welded the handles on so there's not to much of it, but do you think that this could be a huge issue. Has anyone else here had a little rust in their kettle that they just dealt with?

If you scrub the spots with Bar Keepers Friend then dry them and let sit for a week or so this may take care of it. Often spots like that rust due to impurities that have become imbedded into the stainless. Sometimes the stainless itself becomes damaged and need to be re "activated" by a product like barkeepers. In the end if they don't go away permanently just be sure to dry your pot well before storing.

Hey, thank you much for your suggestion. I will go to Walmart and see if they have some, which they should have something like that if not! Thank you again!

I get my bar keepers from amazon. Thank god for prime shipping.

I get it at Home Depot for $1.50. I almost ordered it from amazon but then found it at Home Depot for WAY less. Just thought I would let you know. :mug:

Damn. I feel like my whole life is a lie now that I know how cheap it is at HD.
