SQ14 burner queation

Cheers! I just bought the sq14 burner to brew out of a 5 gallon kettle and was wondering if anyone had my clue on how much propane the sq14 is gonna burn through roughly? Thanks in advance .

I keep meaning to track how many batches I get out of mine, but I always lose count. It is very easy on gas, seems to last forever, at least 10 batches. I heat my strike and sparge water on the stovetop though.

To heat all the water for a 6 gallon brew I use 2½ # of propane. This is based on a 60 minute boil. If I go to 90 minutes I use a little less than 3 #

Last Sunday I used this burner for the first time. I measured 1,5 pound for a 90min boil, but I used water from the water heater at the beginning (I have read it is wrong, but I do not have any difference in taste ...), and I did not push the burner too much, just enough to keep the boil. Maybe my scale is off, but the actual number must not be that far.

You bring up a good point. My usage for propane is for all grain. I am guessing you do extract.

It was all grain, BIAB, starting with 9 gallons of water.
