I replaced the original preset PRV on my Spike manifold with a stainless steel adjustable PRV from More Beer. My intention is to use it as a spunding valve. Anyone see any reason that it won't do the job for me?
Spunding valves have limited relief flow rates and it is possible for pressure to build faster than it can relieve. It would be best to run the spunding valve and PRV in parallel, i.e. off a tee piece, with the spunding valve set to a lower pressure than the PRV. That way you can control pressure AND have backup capacity to reduce pressure if it exceeds safe levels
