I'm getting married this Sunday and we are honeymooning in New Orleans next week. Anyone know any good craft brew spots/breweries to check out?

If you're down on Bourbon St, it's mainly BMC. However, there is one spot (actually 2 as they have 2 locations) called Beerfest. They've got about 50 beers on tap and some of them are out of the way micros (although most are very commercial micros).

The beer is expensive (welcome to tourist central) but they have a way to get discounts. Women can trade their bras for beer. No nudity required, but you have to take it off on the spot. It's brilliant!

On a serious note, if you are on Bourbon and you want good beer, it's your only choice.

Congratulations! Great choice of locations IMHO.

The best bet in the region not just city. Outside of the French Quarter, but still accessible by streetcar and cab or foot taxi.

Beer Buddha's got a map of the major beer locations in the city....

DBA on Frenchman just outside the French Quarter is a good stop and a fun neighborhood http://dbabars.com/dbano/

The Bulldog at 3500 Magazine is in my neck of the woods and great stop on any uptown outing http://bulldog.draftfreak.com/ It is right by the Garden District, on Magazine street with plenty of shops and good restaurants.

Close by is NOLA brewing which gives tours on Fridays http://www.nolabrewing.com/

Outside of the French Quarter, Abita beer is nearly universal, and NOLA pretty widely available. Also, Tin Roof from Baton Rouge and Magnolia Brewing out of Mississippi are getting good distribution.

This is good info as I'm heading there before Thanksgiving for vacation....Definitely got hooked on the Abita's last time I was there...

Abita ambers are free at the casino! Pre-dinner routine for us...bulldog is definitely worth the trip/streetcar, and garden district is nice to walk around, too
