I just brewed a Dry stout yesterday. I'm going to split the 5 gallons into 6 batches (4 gallon jugs and 2 half gallon). I'm going to rack each one onto something else. This is what I have so far:

1-Bourbon soaked oak chips
1-Cold Brewed Coffee
1-???
1-???

1/2-Cocoa Nibs and mint Altoids
1/2-???

Any ideas? I want to do something very crazy for the half gallons!

Nuts(almonds perhaps)? Raspberry puree?

Those would be my first choices.

Other possibilities - bacon. Honey. Bourbon. Vanilla .

Cardamom in a stout can be tasty but use a very very very small amount. A little goes a long way.

You could blend some with a pale ale for black and tan.

How a about some chili peppers? Something fairly mild like the green ancho chilies in a can or something. Or even dried red peppers soaked in a liquor of some sort? Could be interesting.

I'll second Chilis. Guajillo or ancho

Vanilla bean

Prime one with maple syrup

Aggresive dry hop

Frumunda Cheese

So many great ideas!

The one thing I can't do is the peppers. I'm not a fan of peppers and no one else that usually drinks my beers are either. I would love to try making something like that but lack the people to drink it! haha.

CHEESE!? Haha

What do you all think about throwing a few cinnamon Altoids into 1/2 gallon? haha

I think as opposed to your altoids you should use peppermint extract and cinnamon sticks.

What about adding peppermint leaves and cinnamon to the priming sugar?

Muddle the leaves and grind the cinnamon fresh for maximum flavor.

I said it as kind of a joke because I was eating one at the time but I DO love the flavor! I think your way is better too, I may do that too. I'm still considering a bunch of things. I guess I have about another week but fermentation has been crazy so far so I'm excited about this one.
