I've been doing an unofficial research project the last couple of months with spent hops....
My new house is in a new development with many empty lots surrounding my house the first winter we quickly had a problem with field mice entering the house when the cold weather came. Simple enough I would put out the old fashion traps with some peanut butter and keep them set through the winter always killing a half dozen or so...they never got in the kitchen mainly the basement so didn't bother me to much...anyways next winter came same problem...so this fall I've been spreading my spent hops all around my house thinking it might deter them...hell if they can kill a dog maybe it can them too....
anyways so far so good...I have had my traps set out for over a month now and nothing....
been trying to research to see if there was any science behind my theory....haven't had much luck....but I'm curious now and will keep paying attention
