Spent Grains in Freezer?

So we tried our hand at making spent grain dog treats this past weekend. Worked out really well! We only used 1lb of grain because we didn't know how fast they'd go because of sharing them with other people. So next time we're going to make more but they do take a while to make.

I know spent grains get pretty rancid. Does anyone keep their spent grains for any amount of time? How do you keep them? Can you freeze them in bags and make the dog treats later?

I know I've seen a thread on this but I cannot seem to find it.

I've never made dog treats, but I used to just scoop a few tablespoons each day and mix it with my dog's food. I would put them in Tupperware containers. One container would go in the fridge and the others would go in the freezer. When I ran out of the container in the fridge, I'd take one out of the freezer to defrost overnight, then scoop that batch into the dog food. I never ran into issues.

I have put them in a strainer to try to push a little water out of the grains and then stuck them in plastic bags in the freezer. They seem to keep well to use later when I have more time to dehydrate them to use for cooking.

@Carolina_Matt the dogs love them! I don't know the exact amounts, but it was 1lb spent grains, flour, 2 eggs, and almost a full jar of PB. They loved them!! Worth a shot if you feel so inclined.
