Specific Gravity to Sugar in grams

Hey,

I'm doing a biology lab on the amount of sugar present in a potato. My idea was to do a vodka like potato mash and then measure the gravity of it. Is there any formula to convert specific gravity to total amount of sugar present in the solution?
