What equipment do you all-grain brewers use for a sparge arm. The rotating sparge arm on the market sells for $40.00 . . . far to rich for my brewery; besides, I really like making my own gear . . . feels more authentic.
I took some very "skinny" cpvc and rigged it up in to a "T" that sits atop my mash tun. Then i drilled some very tiny holes in it. Every now and then during the sparge, I move it around to ensure that the water is getting evenly distributed.
On my last AG brew I got around 75% efficiency . . . so, buying an expensive and fancy rotating sparge arm is not on top of my priority list.
I'm just interested in what gear you all use in your sparging process.
I'm brewing this sunday, so maybe I'll post some pics of my gear and you can all tell me what you think and how I can improve it.
