I've been putting together a single tier propane keggle setup. I plan to do fly sparging. Those of you who use keggles, if you fly sparge, what are you using? Pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't have my hlt set up yet so I keep my sparge water in my bk. I gravity drain from the Mt into a bucket and pump sparge water into the Mt, with the hose directed into a folded piece of foil with holes punched in it.

I used to use foil as well. I changed to the colander when I was helping a buddy brew pilot beers before he opened his brewery. When we went to sparge, he didn't like the ideal of using the foil for possible off flavors.

Now I couldn't tell you if there are any flavors that may be leeched from this, as I know many home brewers utilize this process with great success. I just followed suit bc the colander is reusable and cost free, and this guy is an awesome brewer who is meticulous with his brewing, so I figured there is a rhyme to his reason.

I build one out of PVC for my keggle, works great and I sure it spews plastics toxics into my beer, I offset it with hops and grain!
