L & G's-
We are attempting to brew the 140 shilling Wee Heavy from Ron's Barclay Perkins site http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/2011/10/lets-brew-wednesday-1868-william.html
Mashing for 2 hours at 71.7 (161f) for 2 hours - but I am not sure on the temp of our fly sparge water...any ideas? We need to start sparging in 25 minutes or so.
And with a 3 hour boil on this beer - we are going to be up all night here in Beijing!!!

somewhere around 76c should be good for sparge.

3hr boil and 2 hr mash good lord :ban:

got it at 80 - stuck sparge - too much grain for the LT - hell in Beijing right now - thank god for cheap Chinese food and decent homebrew!

that is what we ended up doing - still crap as I think the grains were milled too much and we had a layer of clay on the top. A bit of a nightmare to say the least, but we made do. Boil is on.

hydrometer broke/got smashed. We saved some pre-boil wort so we can measure it on Monday when we get a new hydrometer...oh the drama!
