I have a question in relation to adding minerals to my sparge water. I'm going to be utilizing a blend of 50/50 of my tap and distilled. I'm utilizing the bru water spreadsheet. I'm going to have to add some lactic acid to the sparge to drop the pH to about 5.4. My question is around the adding the cacl. I've searched and seen that the advise says to add it to the boil, but I'm wondering since my mineral profile is essentially set, if I should just add it to the sparge water prior to sparging?

In my opinion, adding it to the sparging water has an advantage in that it places a slightly greater osmotic stress on the plant cells and that helps reduce tannin extraction from the grist.
