Hello All,

Thanks for taking time to share your brewing tech, stories, f-ups, etc. with the world. I've been lurking the site for the past couple weeks and am taking the plunge into the world of brewing.

AND the SWMBO is up in Maine with her sister so I can tinker as much as I like and not have to answer for it until she comes back :ban::ban::ban:

So I'm going to run this thread blog style, if you see me screwing up or making way too much out of something simple jump right in and say WHOA!

Going to KISS style brew my first go, but for now the first issue is getting some cooling on the fermenter. South Florida, West Palm Beach, It's way too hot in the garage and the house is set at 80', so I need to build a cooler.

Theres an old wall a/c unit in the Florida room that never gets used, so I can harvest that and build a box out of foam board from home depot. I found a johnson temp controller for $32 on ebay from a brewer in NY selling his. If he's on here, thanks bro! Had to remove the thermostat from the wall shaker.

Picked up 1 sheet of foam board yesterday. Went big bucks and got the $13 sheet with the foil. R3 technology FTW :mug:. Had to cut the pieces in the parking lot to fit in the smart car. :p

Built up a base from wood scraps and foil tape and caulk - leftover bits of this and that. It'll get down to 45 and holds 65 with ease. :mug: Beer time!

I'm going down to the Lake Worth brew store today and buy some things. Will report on what I get later.

Here's the pics of the Fermentorator R3 v1. :mug:
