I played ball with him after he retired back in Mass. An outstanding guy. Just showed up at practice for our semi-pro team one day and, boom, he was soon out there throwing knuckleballs for us.

I kept in touch with him until a couple of years ago. I'm headed to his hometown this weekend. I should probably give him a call and tell him about your man crush.
 
The funniest thing about that is that I was planning on posting that same damn thing today.

I called him before we went and talked for a few. Unfortunately, he was headed out of town himself so we never hooked up. Just as well. I'm sure we would have hoisted more than a few.
