We had a neighborhood block party in our cul de sac tonight. We were talking about beer and my homebrew came up. I grabbed a couple of bottles of my Blood Orange Hef, and my Xmas Porter.

My neighbors said they would pay money for pints of my beers, and said they liked them better than the beers they had at one of the new local breweries...and my neighbor's wife took a sip of the porter, and wouldn't give it back to her husband.

That's pretty cool.

It does feel good.

I've had family and friends try some of my beers before, but my neighbor is different. We have standing orders to give honest feedback...usually from stuff we cook at BBQ's, but I told him I expected the same honest feedback about my beer.

I do think they'll expect cold homebrews at all of our future BBQ's. Which I think I can handle.

great stuff! The real test for a brewer is if someone will actually pay for your beers, that means they are good. (alot of people wont tell you the truth) lol

You have found an audience, that is cool

The amount you brew reflects the amount you can get rid off. seriously. And nothing is worse than wanting to brew and having no room as you supplies of home brew is full up.

Part of my audience likes lighter american style beers, so I brew them up for them. Many feel that may be v blasphemy, but if you look at it what is wrong with brewing for your friends. And look at this, you really have to be good to brew such a thin flavor profile, there is nothing to hide mistakes with.

That's a great feeling for sure, congrats OP! I've recently received some feedback similar to your experience and it's an awesome feeling.
