Guys,

Just wanted to say a collective thank you to everyone who posts on here and helps people out. I visit many forums on the net...home repair, guitar stuff, etc...and this is BY FAR the most helpful and friendly bunch of folks.

I'm just writing because I borrowed so many ideas from different threads that making my Fermentation chamber and controlling it with an STC1000 was easy and a success.

I used an old dorm fridge and built an insulated enclosure that will hold 3 buckets or carboys...about 44" L x 30" H x 15" W. I am fermenting my first batch in it right now and it has been LOCKED at 64 degrees since I put it in there.

I didn't do a "build thread" but would be happy to offer advice to anyone thinking of doing this, or post pics if it would help.

Thanks again to all the folks who posted on all the threads I learned from. Cheers!

Ron

congrats on new gear. im building one out of an old dresser right now. just need some hinges and some more crack sealing crap and im good to go. same route with the stc contoler.

Interesting... a dorm fridge. If a guy were creative that could be ridiculously handy... I need pics. I'm trying to ramp myself up for a ferm chamber even now. Ideas very welcome!

This site has also helped me with a lot of my brewing and DIY projects.

My fermentation chamber:

Other projects include: Stirplate, immersion chiller, yeast freezing, Corona style mill station, water cooler mash tun, kettle valves and sightglass with thermometer in my HLT.

This plus imparting tons of knowledge and ideas into my gray matter.
