Is it normal to keep checking on your brew? Is it bubbling? Is it warm enough? Does it smell right(no infection)? I have three kids and I am a protective Dad... Now. Its like I have a fourth. ;-)

Haha yeah, totally normal. I get obsessive over counting seconds between bubbles during the initial fermentation as well as the temp. Love the smell those fermentation bubbles make! It does get a bit less OCD the more batches you do though! I'm in pure pain right now since I'm leaving my beer in the primary for 4 weeks instead of 3 to see what kind of improvement it makes. The extra week is killing me, but the patience should pay off!

You're a typical noob, as you gain more experience, and learn that your beer and your yeast is nearly invincible, and you have several batches going at once in various stages, you'll start doing what a lot of us do, and pitch your yeast, then walk away for a month til bottling day.

I'm 35 batches in and I still check when I walk by most of the time to see how the temp is reading on my fridge. Once primary is done though I usually forget about it though
