Small crack in freezer tray (keggerator)

So I've recently been slowly working on converting my Danby mini fridge into a keggerator. When it came time to bend back the freezer compartment, I came upon a small crack in the freezer compartment..right where the coolant line runs in.. there was a small gas smell but I decided to plug it in. The fridge is still working.. it is cooling down and for now I am just leaving it and thinking of a game plan. Is there anything I might be able to put over this small crack and continue to bend? Is there a better technique? Instead of bend the freezer down can I bend the sides in?
