Size of Mash tung

I am just starting to get together equipment to start all grain brewing. I normally make 5 gallon batches. I am currently building a mash tung out of a cooler that I have and was wondering how big my cooler needs to be if I ever wanted to attempt a 10 gallon batch.

I can do a 10 gallon batch with a 10 gallon tun unless it is high gravity. If you do a lot of high gravity batches and want to do a 10 gallon batch, you'll need a 60-quart or so because of the amount of grain.

Somewhere on this forum there is a thread titled "can I mash it?" or something like that.
It includes a table that shows how much can fit in a cooler with various grist ratios

Thanks for the link I just figured out that my cooler is 12 gallons which should give me just enough space to do a 10 gallon batch if I wanted to brew that much.

I have a 10 gallon Rubbermaid water cooler and do 5 gallon batches. I have nearly maxed it out on a couple of high gravity brews!

i was thinking the same thing before i built mine, what i bought was a 70 qt coolman Xtream it works great and i did a russian imperial stout in it with 26lbs of grains and had no issues at all, i could have fit another 10lbs in there still and it kept the heat well too
