This will be interesting as to how this beer comes out. Made an Irish Red Ale, was going to transfer it from primary to my keg when SNAP I destroyed my auto siphon. Alright, not that big a deal... I can start the siphon by mouth... Yeah, not a good idea. Since the auto siphon snapped I had to take the tube off which would not hold straight, then it wasn't long enough, then it kept coming out because the tube curled, then the tube popped out and I siphoned beer onto the floor. COME ON. Who the heck knows how much o2 and other crap got into that PERFECTLY fine beer.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Hope you were able to save most of the batch and avoid introducing nasties.

If nothing else, drink it quick and invest in a new siphon/longer tube.

Sounds bad, sure it'll turn out ok...I got oak chips clogged in my auto siphon today. Took me for ever to get it all cleaned out.

I have the large, 1/2 inch autosiphon. What I've found works best is to use 3/8 I.D. silicone tubing with it. Use StarSan to sanitize the autosiphon and boil the silicon tubing for a few minutes. Spray some StarSan on the autosiphon cane just before you slide the tubing on and the tubing will slide on easily, but still make a good airtight connection - I don't even use a clamp. The silicone tubing also doesn't tend to curl up like the vinyl tubing. When done, the silicone tubing comes off easily, too.
