i have had very good luck with briess pilsner at 152.

but i havent tried others so i cant compare .

What flavor profile are you looking for? Avengard, Best, Briess, Weyermann are good all-around Pils, Barke has a bready flavor, etc. If I was doing a Helles, I'd go with Barke. If you're buying in bulk for general usage, there's not a big difference TO ME among those I mentioned, so I'd look at price.

That's a great question and one that I've had myself. What I've noticed is that it takes longer to convert than 2-row. I mash to a particular gravity and it takes sometimes 30 min. longer. With that in mind, I've used Great Western pils with good results at a single temp.

There's a lot of different pilsner out there, German, Czech, Italian, American, etc. I'm a huge believer in using the local ingredients for the type you want to make. I do like Avangard for most pilsners. Viking is also good.

I've only used Breiss and Weyermans and had good luck with both. I am using Lalemanns Novalager for yeast and really like how quickly this lager yeast takes care of business
