Single Hop Extract Brewing 10 gals

Hi all,

My friend and I have just bought ingredients to make two 5 gal batches. However we only have one 7 gal kettle.

We don't have enough money to buy another kettle so, we were wondering if any of you have tried to make a concentrate combining the two 5 gal batches ingredients in one kettle and then dividing equally with two carboys and then topping off the 5 gal mark with water. So you would have to boil 16lbs of UME !!

8 lbs of UME
14 oz of Crystal 15 L
0.5 oz NB bittering
2 oz Calypso 10 min
2 oz Calypso 1 min
2 oz Calypso dry hopping post

I have not, and in your case i would not. I like to do a full boil or at least very close to it. In your case i would do 2 boils.
