I am thinking about installing a sight glass on my keggle and would like to hear from others who have done the same.

Are they hard to clean and maintain?

Are there any made from real glass not the poly tube?

Who makes/sells the best sight glass for the money?

Best option by far is the sightglass from BobbyM. His website is www.brewhardware.com. Not only does he have a couple configurations availabe, but he also includes vinyl calibration numbers. As for cleaning, a "sightglass brush" can be purchased for a few dollars more. Finally, I think almost all the kits available, regardless of vendor, use poly tube rather than glass.

I don't have a sightglass on my BK but I have that one on my HLT. I love it!

I use one of the Bobby M models, works well. I just run hot PBW or Oxiclean through my kettle and it cleans it just fine.

i like bobby's as well, but have never used one on my BK. i just figure with the immersion chiller, the change in volume when boiling, it probably would just confuse me. and to be honest, i don't really use the one on my HLT anyway, i'm a bucket measurer, just can't seem to pull myself away from that method.
