It was pointed out to me today (because I was talking to a co-worker about sick vs. vacation days taken to brew beer) that on could potentially take a day off of work to brew and classify it as a "sick" day and if asked for further details, just us the word yeast as an explanation.. I personally see many more sick days in my future.

I am (and identify as...) male.. Figured it is worth a try, worst case I get tagged a vacation day, best case I get to "write-off" my brew days as sick days..

[edit]
Glad to see another MA resident up doing the important work early in the morning..

Cheers, if you are ever in "our neck of the woods" look me up and we can grab a pint.. I am aware though that when you look at a map for us you see "there be dragons here.." :)

The company I work for recently reclassified both "sick time" and "vacation time" as "paid time off." So now it's up to us what we use it for, no questions asked. It's quite convenient, but when I take time off I lose money, because I don't get the overtime I usually do. Maybe you could put in for some PTO?
Regards, GF.

I've told myself for years I'm going to use PTO to brew one day. It's probably the only way I'll ever get paid to brew. Haha.

My company has unlimited sick time [however if it's more than 5-day increments you need to take a leave of absence] and PTO is untracked on the "honor system" [i.e. if you and your boss agree it's reasonable, you can take as much as you need].

And yet I still barely find time to brew.

You just realized sick days are for brewing??? It's the perfect day to get the house to yourself and your getting paid to make beer it's a total home run. Just call up say you got a fever/runs/stomach virus and then the day is yours
