I hope that's not your co2 tank on it's side on the top... you can damage your regulator with liquid co2 doing that. not to mention, if it's full, and just sitting on top of your fridge like that, you're just asking for an accident. *Always* tie down the co2 tank.

Ok, I just finished mine and it turned out great. I have about $$375 bucks invested.

Holds 4 kegs

Medium sized frig. (Used) $ 25.00
All tubes, Taps etc. $340.00
Kegs Free (Used)
Co2 Tank Free!

Mine was about the same.
$50 for the fridge
one tap less so a little cheaper
free kegs and free co2

This looks great! I would love to make mine look like this. I just bought my chest freezer and I think the look of this tile on the top would look perfect in my kitchen. Any tips for replicating your build?

Thanks!

This thread is an awesome resource. I've been motivated to undertake my own project. Spent the last 2 days mostly sanding on some beautiful cherry boards for a black Kenmore 8.8 cf chest freezer. Going with a 9 inch cherry collar, and making a cherry bar top for the lid rather than putting the factory one back on. I'll be posting some pics once I'm a little further along. Thanks to every here for the motivation.

Added a hinged lid to an ice cream cooler. Threw on a refer thermostat and a thermometer.

Keeps em cold, holds 2 5gallon cornys and a 5lb co2 bottle.

Hopefully get some taps in there soon.

Finally completed mine. Nothing fancy, but very functional.

Colar is done and insulated w/ Great Stuff... Has a single keg of ESB in it with a party tap. Real taps on their way.

Next up will be painting the colar.

The top is a simple add on of a 1x3 pine wrapper so there is minimal damage to the actual lid. Wrapped that with moulding and added inexpensive lamenant on top. This will suffice for a while.

Our plan is to "man-cave" out our garage at which time I will update the skin on the keezer. Diamond plate perhaps :mug:...

Oh yeah, this is an 18 cf freezer I picked up on Craigslist for $70. the most expensive thing I've had to buy so far is the thermostat!

So whats makes the best kegerator? I want to start looking for something now so if come across it I can snag it. I would like those mini looking ones but I don't like how the CO2 tank is just hanging out on the side, wifey wont like that.

I think you are the only one that can answer that question. There are a lot of awesome kegerators on this thread. Which style best suits your needs, taste, and finances?

ya know I really dont have the space for a designated fridge, maybe a mini fridge but I think those are too small. If I could get beer into a keg that would work with a Heineken mini keg machine that would be my best bet.

So a mini fridge is too small, but you want o use heinekin mini kegs??

You can fit 2 full cornies in a mini fridge.

well yea, cuz if I could use the Heiny mini keg dispenser thingy then I could leave it on my kitchen counter. That thing is not very big. Something like this if I could fill my own mini keg.

It is possible, but I dont recall seeing it documented very well on here but I'm sure it might be. [ame="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=5l+mini+kegs+homebrew&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai="]Here is a quick google search that may work[/ame]

do you have a blog that would give a walkthrough on this, I am just waiting to pick up the freezer at this point but this is exactly what I would do if I did mine

also, I recently picked up a 9 tap riser from a bar that went out of business, I think it weighs about 40 llbs, would this be to much for the top?

thanks

/I would post my current rig but I don't have enough posts yet, looks like I have to spam the forums till I get there :)

But they wont have MY brew in them. Or can you refill them?

They are made for homebrew - special tap system and everything. Here is one that I dropped shortly before tapping. :bag:
