I have a 4 gallon brew going with 10.5 lbs of fermentables. It has been fermenting for three days. Yesterday morning the lid blew off and this morning nothing; no bubbles and no foam on top. However, there is a thick layer of build up under the lid and up the sides of the bucket. The build up is about 1.5 inches thick.
Should I scrape it down into the liquid?
FYI: It smells like really good beer right now. Here are the ingredients:
.75 lbs. Crystal Malt
.25 lbs. American Chocolate Malt
6.6 lbs. Liquid Amber Extract
1 lbs. Dry Light Extract
2 lbs. Corn Sugar
1 oz. Cluster 6.6% 60 minutes.
.5 oz. Sterling 7.50% 5 minutes.
