Short neck bottles

Hi all,

Its that time! I hope. To bottle that is. Looking for short neck bottles, anyone have any links? Cant seem to find any.

Actually, found one, but it is a twist cap. Couple questions regarding that.....Can I cap a "twist" cap with a conventional bottle capper?

I've capped twist top bottles before using a wing capper with success. But I didn't use them extensively, maybe one here and there. I've heard a lot of people having trouble getting them to seal. I have also heard that it is possible to cap twist top bottles with great success with a table top capper since a table top capper doesn't grab the neck of the bottle.

Just buy yourself a bunch of Sierra Nevada beer and use those bottles. Bonus is they come pre-filled with tasty beverage as well.

+1 on the SN bottles. That is what I use. Fits in the fridge, and can still be used to give some away, or enter competitions.

Around here I used to get sierra nevada and anchor beers for the pop top stubbies, If I remember right i think red stripe was a pop top to, but the bottles were painted on. the problem with twist tops is that they have a tendancy to break during capping because the rim is so thin.

I managed to rack up a few cases worth of them rather quickly in order to mix in with my 22s.

Abita has stubby bottles too, but I don't have much luck capping them. They tend to break a lot with my wing capper so you may want to stay away from those.

+1. I've had nothing but bad results with stubby bottles. All mine came from Abita and Heinekin, and all were pry offs. I didn't break any- they didn't seal right.

williamsbrewing.com has them, I ordered some a couple months ago. I think they came from Firestone brewing co. brand new. They ship out of California.
