I had about 2 hours to make my pumpkin spice brew before I had to leave for a doctors appt. This was the first time I decided to do a mini mash. I did not realize that it would add about 45 minutes to the overall process. Needless to say I ran out of time and had to cut my boil short by about 15 minutes. Will there be any adverse effects?

less hop bitterness. What did you have in the mini mash? Any pilsen malt?

The malts that I used were
1 1/4 lb 2-row Malt
1 1/4 lb Vienna Malt
1/2 lb Cara Munich Malt
1/2 lb Crystal 60L Malt
Then some DME

My SG is 1.046 and the kit says I am supposed to have 1.052..

I also had to cut my mini mash time by 5 minutes.

...screwed the pooch all the way around :drunk:

What was your hop schedule like? If you didn't have any additions after 15 minutes, then it may not matter SO much.

I did a half ounce when I started the boil then another half ounce for the last 15 minutes. I made sure that the second addition was in there a full 15 minutes. I just threw them in a little early overall. So the hop addition times were right but the overall boil was shorter than usual.

But I did check the carboy this morning and there is some good fermentation, so I am happy with that. I will just have to wait and see how it tastes.
