Shock top end of the world ale

I found some 12 packs of this on sale for 6.99 I bought a 12er and I'm wondering if this is a yearly beer for shock top or is this a once in a lifetime thing to commemorate the dec 21 2012 end of the world. If its a once in a lifetime brew I'm gonna buy all the store has.

Any thoughts?

Considering it was released 10/12, possibly even brewed before then, it's already 6 months old. I'm not thinking it is a style that is going to age well...

Why would it not age well if kept in fridge?

If the store kept it in the fridge the entire time, that's one thing, but my guess is that it's been sitting out on the floor?
