i've got a few bottles of wine to send out with the holidays coming and all. what have people been using to send them out? UPS, FEDEX, USPS? i read somewhere that some companies do not like shipping bottles.

thx

No no do not use USPS, they don't allow alcohol and some other things: https://www.usps.com/ship/can-you-ship-it.htm And being a government agency no way I would risk it with the Postal Service (although it looks like that may change if this bill passes: http://strikeandtechel.com/2012/05/...-allowing-usps-to-ship-beer-wine-and-spirits/)

Must be a common question for UPS because they have the convenient URL ups.com/wine http://www.ups.com/wine

Looks like UPS says it's only on a contract basis so I doubt they would do it for individuals ... http://www.ups.com/wine#Who+Can+Ship+Wine

UPS stores that actually sign the wine shipping contracts will ship wine from private parties, just no distilled spirits. So it may be a matter of finding a UPS location that has signed the contract. I have used them to ship many times.

I have shipped "really old" bottles of grape juice through the UPS system before. Not my fault the natural yeasts in the air got inside the bottles and turned that old grape juice into some kind of wine-like substance.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
