I stopped reading the debate several posts ago. I'm just thinking I went to the wrong college. I paid a lot of money, and never saw a women orgasm in front of me...wait...that's not exactly what I meant.

Talk to me in 20 years.. if you're still allowed to....

I remember sitting in gas ration lines watching housewives in fist fights over gasoline.. I remember watching my dads business burn to the ground in the watts riots.. I still still feel the sting of a radicals spit in my face because I was wearing the uniform of a marine..

The signs of what we're running up to now, are far more ominous than then..

No, I don't think you 'can' help me with that chip.. you don't understand.. how could you.. you're still a kid yourself.. but you 'will'.. sooner than you know...

Hope I'm wrong as hell on this.. but I don't think I am...

And my rants about the decline of America are responses to other posts, not the original issue.. If you had read the entire discourse you would see that...

Awe never-mind.. It's your world... us older folks just live in it and take up your oxygen...

Told myself I wasn't going to get into this crap here.. but I did.. It's just that the propaganda machine is in full force in the country, and it pisses me off...

You are what you eat.. Unfortunately, we are a vain society that worries and scrutinizes far more about what we feed our bodies than what we feed our minds...

After apathy and denial comes oppression.. it always does...

r8rphan,
My intent wasn't to make fun of you for your typo/grammatical mistake. I just thought it was funny. I put the smiley in to signify lightheartedness. Sorry if I offended you.

Would you care to respond to the other questions in my post?
I really want to hear your point of view. I certainly won't discount it just because you are older than I am. That would be foolish.

You have the perspective of the older personlooking at the youngeer generation, I'm the opposite. You've been here too though, older folks always griping how it was better back in the day and how things are getting worse, guess what, that is wrong. Things are getting better, they have been for a long long time. They prolly will continue to, despite the arguments and naysayers.
Hell 20 years ago that woman would have needed an extention cord and it probably would not have been properly grounded. Cordless.

Wow. And how about that mash efficiency? Do you fly sparge or batch?

Seriously getting way to "tea party" around here for a brewing forum.

oh, and where can i pick up one of those attachments, I'm wondering if my wife might like it.

I wasn't offended.. I just thought it was funny that it was an issue on a forum full of beer drinkers...

No, I'm spent on this.. really.. and I've lost track of who said what in this thread anyways... not to mention that I'm just starting to catch a buzz, and I don't want to ruin it nor do I want to engage in this when I'm not thinking clearly...

Next time...
Don't harsh my buzz, homie!

I hear you about thinking clearly, you don't seem to make much sense to me so far. :)
take care

You're confusing the term 'better' with the term 'easier'... They are typically mutually exclusive terms when you're talking about 'life'...

And things are still moving in the same direction they were when I was your age, not wanting to hear what the older generation was telling me.. only faster... just like it was moving faster in my generation than it was in theirs... the trend is that each generation is rushing headlong faster and faster than the one that preceded it...

At 'some' point, the younger generation finally rebels against that direction trend or continues in it past the tipping point of no return... We're to where we can hear the water rushing over the edge now...

But make no mistake.. things 'never' remain 'business as usual'... not for long anyways.. You can't just tread water.. you are either fighting the current or going with it..

Beware.. we are not 'immune' to what has befallen societies that came before us... especially when we make the same mistakes...

I gotta stop now... and enjoy the home brew...

Annnnnd we're done. Ok everybody, that's a wrap. We will do act two of "America Falls from Grace" tomorrow.

Hey somebody start a thread about how Obama drank a beer so we can get this gravy train movin' again.

Come on man.. that question belongs in the DIY forum.... :D

If that thing came off at the wrong time, and the blade holder hit something you don't want it to, well lets just say neither of you would be very happy...

I use those things daily.. and I see blades come off all the time.. and they're 'designed' to hold blades... I can only imagine how reliable they are with something they're not designed to hold...

Right tool for the job is the best policy.. And God gave you the right tool for 'that' job at birth... :mug:

Yeah, she's not really handy with power tools anyway.

Good, then you can just use the tool that God gave you for that purpose, and put it in the toolbox as often as you can....

Think about it.. if it weren't for sex, we'd want nothing to do with them... and vis versa.. So he gave us this incredibly addictive wondrous activity that forces us into relationship with each other... and replacing the other with a machine is not part of that plan...
:mug:

I was joking before.. and now we're gettin' all serious and stuff. ;-)

I was smiling when I said that stuff.. How's that? :D

Where in Lakewood are you?.. I grew up in Torrance, and spent my last 20 years down there living in Redondo Beach near Prospect and Torrance blvd...

When I was in the Union, I did quite a bit of work at McDonnel Douglass... I think my ex GF still lives in bellflower...

That's all my stomping ground. Grew up in dondo, went to RUHS back in the day. I live a few blocks from the Old Douglass plant in Lakewood now.

Ha.. I went to North High in Torrance, later El Camino..... My sister went to RUHS (after she got kicked out of North).. Mom worked for them in accounting at the District office..... I lived on Juanita for a while.. and would walk to the football games as the stadium was at the end of the block...

Was in a band at the time.. We threw a few monster parties there...

Talking to r8orphan is like talking to a cliche a day calendar. So in response I can only say:

Do what's in your heart. History repeats itself. A bird in the hand is worth two on the bush. A friend of yours is a friend of mine, and of course, don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
