my beer is in secondary with what looks to be a ****load of broken up hob debris floating on top and it's been 2 weeks, i can't bottle it because it will get sucked into the syphon, and i can't cold crash. This **** is bouyant as hell why wont it SINK!?

Have you tried swirling the carboy gently once a day, trying to get them to settle?

Other than that, try a hop bag over the end of siphon/racking cane?

+1 to what manitoid said. Hop bag over the cane and you'll be fine. Slight annoyance maybe but it should work just make sure to sanitize the bag well!

I second TheCollector: I've used the hop bag trick myself a couple times and it is marvelous.
