Hello!

I've been scouring the Internet to find any information on this, but my searches have turned up nothing useful. Maybe it's because this is not a good idea.

I'm asking the electrically-inclined individuals here if it is possible/easy to rewire a fridge with a freezer on top so the freezer can be powered via its own power cord.

This would allow me to freeze hops in the top freezer while plugging the fridge on the bottom into a temperature controller and maintaining 50 degrees for lager fermentation/beer storage.

Is it necessary? No. I could get separate units, but I figured since I have the freezer already I might as well try to use it, as it would be very convenient and less wasteful.

My electrical experience is basic, but I'm not afraid to dig into things (safely).

Thanks for any help you can give!
