Easiest way is to put berries in a special purpose made bag and do primary fermentation in a big plastic bucket so you can easily remove the entire bag before racking to secondary. If you only have a glass carboy, then you'll need to strain them out on day 7 otherwise they might leave a bitter taste in the wine.

Just throw them in your compost pile. Or use them to make soap. Or something.
